In the last two weeks, something has happened to me I never expeted to happen: one of my art pieces has been claimed to be made by not one, but two different persons.

And it is not even one of my better pieces! Well I suppose people who tries to steal art don't get popular pieces since they are well known and the original author is obvious but even so... it makes me wonder why this piece, and why two different people in such a short time? Is it just a coincidence? Why did it become so popular?

The piece is this:

Unicorn head by SoniaCarreras

It is a very old sketch I did in 1990 that got published in a fanzine that year (those old fanzines made out of photocopies) and that I uploaded into this account when I opened it because my first idea was to use it to store and showcase all my old works (I soon got tired of it: scanning all of them, uploading and commenting was too much of a task I wasn't very interested to devote all my spare time to). That makes the thing even funnier, because I bet both persons who claimed it (one here in deviantart, the other in facebook) probably weren't even born when I drew it.

I must admit I'm more amused than offended, and even a bit flattered. I guess it means they love it enough to want to claim it!!! Maybe this is my first step to fame and fortune!!
